Personal Freedom Over Satanic Attacks!

I want to share with you a document that I shared with some people after a recent ministry time. We will also give this out as a handout to people after we minister to them personally along the lines of spiritual oppression and such.

Satan seeks to attack believers with negative thoughts, negative emotions, and with fear and doubt. His goal is to cause you to doubt the promises of God and to believe your thoughts, emotions, and circumstances more than you believe the Word of God!

Use the following as a guide for meditating the Word concerning your authority in Christ and God's promises to deliver you from fear and overbearing circumstances.

Read them slowly. Read them aloud. Repeat them over and over. Fear and doubt will give way to faith and trust. Your life will transform!

Personal Freedom Over Satanic Attacks!

Satan attacks believers with 1) thoughts and 2) feelings!

1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV)

Be sober (mentally self controlled), be vigilant (ever on your guard); because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

He puts a thought in our mind and sometimes a feeling in us. When thoughts and feelings disagree with what God says about you, resist them!

Revelation 12:11 (NKJV)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Remember that Jesus has given us HIS spiritual authority!

Resist thoughts and feelings by speaking OUT LOUD God’s promises to you.

Refuse to listen to the thoughts and feelings. Speak God’s Word OUT LOUD and resist them!

2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV)

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Your authority

The following scriptures show our authority over Satan and form the foundation for our faith in Jesus to set us free from demonic oppression.

With some I have given several translations for clarity and emphasis.

Read them over and over out loud. This is one way we can meditate on scripture.

Luke 10:19 (NKJV)

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions (demons and evil spirits), and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

These rulers in the following scripture are the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places (see Ephesians 6:12). This applies to every demonic force arrayed against you!

1 Corinthians 2:6 (NKJV)

However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

Who are coming to nothing:

Amplified:

Who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away.

Wuest:

Who are in the process of being liquidated.

Young’s Literal Translation:

Of those becoming useless.

Moffat:

The dethroned powers that rule this world.

Colossians 1:13 (AMPC)

[The Father] has delivered and  drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 

Colossians 2:15 (NLT)

In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.

He stripped the rulers and authorities of their power and made a public spectacle of them as he celebrated his victory in Christ.

And then, having drawn the sting of all the powers and authorities ranged against us, He exposed them, shattered, empty and defeated, in His own triumphant victory.

Ephesians 1:19-23 (NLT)

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power (20) that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. (21) Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. (22) God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. (23) And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself. 

Ephesians 2:6 (NLT)

For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

James 4:7 (NKJV)

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

New English Bible:

Stand up to the Devil and he will turn and run!

The word RESIST has been defined by various Bible interpreters as follows:

Strong’s: to oppose or withstand

Bullinger: set one’s self against, either in word or deed or both.

Elliot: The devil can fight, but cannot conquer you if you resist.

Wheaton: Temptation when repelled disappears, and when habitually kept at a distance, ceases to exist.

The word FLEE has been defined by various Bible interpreters as follows:

Thayer: Flee because of inspired fear and threatened danger.

Arndt: Seek safety in flight

Liddle and Scott: Run off as quickly as possible

Expositor’s Greek New Testament: If you resist him, he will be vanquished and will flee from you disgraced.

The following scriptures are God’s promises we can lean on when fear or whatever seeks to attack us!

 No Fear!

Proverbs 3:24 (NKJV) 

When you lie down, you will not be afraid;

Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.

Psalms 127:2 (NKJV)

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.

1 Corinthians 4:3 (J. B. PHILLIPS) 

But, as a matter of fact, it matters very little to me what you, or any man, thinks of me—I don't even value my opinion of myself—but that doesn't justify me before God. My only true judge is God himself.

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 43:1-3 - ESV - But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob,

he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. (2) When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. (3) For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Isaiah 54:17 - ESV - No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

Psalms 46:1-3 -ESV - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (2) Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (3) though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

Psalms 34:4 (ESV)

I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.

Proverbs 29:25 (ESV)

The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Romans 8:15 (ESV)  

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

John 14:27 (ESV) 

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

1 John 4:17-18 - (Amplified) 

In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world. (18) There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

Romans 8:37-39 (ESV) 

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (38) For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, (39) nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
